Stewardship Weekends Are Back – Our National Wildlife Refuge Needs Some TLC! Celebrate Outdoors Month by Volunteering on Saturday, June 13th, 2026

Stewardship Weekends are back!

June is Outdoors Month, and we cannot think of a better way to celebrate than gathering with our incredible community of volunteers! We’re thrilled to invite you to our June Stewardship Weekend ; a morning filled with fresh air, hands-on habitat care, and the joy of giving back to the Refuge we all love. This month’s project takes us to the beautiful marsh, where we’ll remove invasive plants and open up space for native species to flourish. As you work, you’ll learn about our vibrant marsh ecology, discover local flora, and make a real impact on the health of this unique habitat. Your efforts will also help us prepare the trails for our free youth summer camp in July , ensuring young explorers have safe and welcoming paths to discover nature. If you’re ready to get moving, breathe in some salty marsh air, and make a meaningful difference, we’d love to see you this Saturday, June 13th from 9:00 AM to noon! Sign‑in begins at 8:45 AM. Full details are below. Can’t make it? Sharing this event with friends or family is an amazing way to support the Refuge. Your enthusiasm and outreach help us reach more caring hands — and that makes all the difference.

All supplies will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own gloves. Wear sun protection (hat & sunscreen), sturdy close-toed shoes, and wear layers.
